Florals-Glass Fusing

Salmon pink fused glass pieces and powders accented with cranberry are placed on top a clear layer adding depth to the lotus. The background leaf surrounds the flower on 3 sides, allowing the petals on the final side to extend beyond. This fused glass artwork’s design does not trap the lotus into a rigid rectangular frame, but flows into the wall space. A purple orchid is in full bloom in a harvest moon night sky. Light can be seen coming through the moon creating additional depth in the multi-layered glass fusing. Powdered fused glass and chips add depth texture and shading.
